Here’s A Plan:
Set a goal to have a quiet time at least 4 times a week:
-Scripture Reading-Pray and ask the Holy Spirit to speak to you through the Word of God as you read. Read one chapter all the way through. Read your chapters in order. Pick20a starting point and stay with it throughout the summer. If you would like to follow my daily reading pattern; see which Scripture I am reading at www.preacherwaltsdevotional.com. Pray a second time and ask the Holy Spirit to cause one specific verse to stand out to you as you read it through a second time. Write down that verse in a journal and write a few lines about how the Lord was speaking to you through that verse. (10 min.)
-Prayer:
-Spend a few minutes in prayer each day sharing with the Lord anything that may be on your heart making sure to thank Him for all that He’s done for you. (5 min.)
-Memorize:
-Each week I have listed out a verse to memorize. Work on it all week long and try to think about it each day a little bit. Here is your memory verse list. Set a goal to memorize a verse 9 out of the 11 weeks of the summer. That way if you miss a week you won’t get discouraged. Also, work to retain the verses as well by practicing the verses you have memorized in previous weeks.
